Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps envision a future in which all Minnesota children will be proficient readers by the end of 3rd grade and proficient in algebra by the end of 8th grade. Our tutors help students build these critical foundational skills through 1-1 or small group tutoring support.
Tutors are trained in conducting progress monitoring assessments and research-based interventions, and will receive ongoing training and coaching support throughout the school year.
As a tutor, you may choose to serve 18, 25 or 35 hours a week. Minnesota Reading Corps tutors can choose to work in a preschool setting with 3-5 year olds, or in a 1-1 setting with Kindergarten-3rd graders. Minnesota Math Corps tutors will work with pairs of 4th-8th grade students. No experience? No problem! You’ll receive training from literacy or math experts and ongoing coaching and support to help your students build both skills and confidence!
